The Mission and Vision of the Branch
The mission of the Alexandria Branch of National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is to ensure the political, educational, social,and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.
The vision of the Branch is to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights without discrimination based on race.
FEBRUARY
• 11, Young Adult Financial Seminar, Cora Kelly Elementary School, 25 West Reed Ave., Alexandria, VA. Seminar begins promptly at 11 am.
• 11-12, NAACP Youth and College Division Meeting, Mandatory training for each officer and youth at Hampton University, Hampton, VA. Also, special activities to commemorate NAACP Founders Day.
• 12, NAACP Founders Day, 103rd Anniversary.
• 26, Black History Month Program and Soul Food Tasting, Charles Houston Community Center
(co-sponsor Black History Museum), 2 - 4 p.m.
Theme: "Black Women in American History and Culture." Membership table set-up. www.asalh.org
MARCH
• 15, NAACP Scholarships Deadline.
